Pro Era - Like Water (Capital STEEZ, Joey Bada$$ & CJ Fly)
"Capitalizing the name "Capital STEEZ" is now as good as remembering any credible historic leader leading a militant army of troops. "Like Water" is the visual stepping stone to what STEEZ lead for the listeners of revolutionary music." This is one of my favourite tracks that has been released this year.
Bishop Nehru - Misruled Order (Feat. Que Hampton)
The 1st time I heard of this artist was because of a thread that was made on the www.siccness.net. Very talented and only 16 years old. I'm already looking forward to what the future of this kids holds.

Tracey Lee - Pro Bono
Tracey Lee, best known for his 1997 classic The Theme (It's Party Time) (Universal Records), drops his indie smash, Pro Bono a vibrant, funky, ode to ol' school hip-hop summer jam. Tracey's flow coupled with Big Daddy Kane's 'Set It Off' as the sample is like two mountains colliding into one hot hip-hop heaven. The single is produced by DJ Blinks and Pace, and features Young Guru (Engineer and tour DJ for Jay-Z) on the 1's and 2's.
The latest music video coming out of LLeft's production team is 'Pro Bono', a vibrant, funky, ode to ol' school hip-hop summer jam. Tracey Lee's flow coupled with Big Daddy Kane's 'Set It Off' as the sample is like two mountains colliding into one hot hip-hop heaven. Single is produced by DJ Blinks and Pace, and featuring Young Guru.
The video, directed by Lori Nelson Lee does a great job of portraying the energy and colorfulness of the single. The ol' school dances, the Adidas sweatsuits, Kangols, and big gold chains makes us want to dusk off the Krush Groove DVD. But more importantly, the song and the visual just makes you wanna dance! Check it out!

Harn SOLO - The Future
New Orleans-based emcee Harn SOLO heads West to San Diego, California for the latest Focus Cinema TV production, "The Future". The song is the first single from Harn SOLO's upcoming sixth studio album "Perfect Picture" due this Fall. Abandoning his traditional boom-bap sound, Harn SOLO collaborates with young New Orleans talent Crescent Kingz for a new energized style of hip-hop. The rebirth of Harn SOLO's music direction also brings a lighter side to his character. The artist finds himself enjoying a day at the beach and carnival, as he candidly kicks rhymes by the ocean side. Harn SOLO has expanded his horizons as an independent artist traveling to London, Amsterdam, Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix and Los Angeles. His travels and persistence in the music industy have landed him performances with the likes of the Wu-Tang Clan, Skyzoo, Mickey Factz and Chase N. Cashe. New Orleans music source Offbeat Magazine says, "Harn SOLO is a rapper first, and his penchant for speedy bars at a head-rattling pace at unexpected times makes every verse an enthralling listen."
Substance Abuse - Paper Tigers (Feat. Myka 9 & Percee P)
Eso Tre and Subz are L.A. duo Substance Abuse, presenting the RCKLSS ABNDN-directed music video for the Hanif Hobbs-produced single "Paper Tigers", featuring Myka Nyne of Freestyle Fellowship and Percee P. "Tigers" is from their new album Background Music featuring KRS-One, Sadat X, MC Eiht and Tash of Tha Liks (watch the video for "Don't Get Us Wrong"), and the "Tigers" video features cameo appearances from Ras Kass, Sach of The Nonce and more. Former URB Next 100 picks, Substance Abuse dropped their debut Brand New Crime in 1998, following up with 2006's Overproof which featured Motion Man, Saafir and Rasco and received four-star marks from URB and Scratch. "The idea for 'Paper Tigers' came from a botched show we did in L.A.," says Eso. "We were supposed to open up for my friend's group but Subz was out of town so I brought Myka and my homie Deranged to rock with me. I was pretty sauced up and it ended up just being Myka and Deranged rapping. Percee P was in the crowd, and being a fan since I heard him on "Return of the Funky Man", I invited to get onstage. Seeing two of our favorite emcees at the same place at the same time is where the idea came from. Needless to say, I never got liquored up before a show again."
Stack$ - Whitewashed (Feat. Bryan Rucker)
Stack$ has music flowing thru his veins and his entire life has revolved around it as his Father managed Sly & The Family Stone & Peaches & Herb and he even co-produced Gladys Knight & The Pips smash hit “Midnight Train To Georgia.”
A Miami, FL resident, Stack$ cut his teeth in the industry at a very young age, as he ran with the Cash Money click writing and producing tracks for Lil Wayne and a host of other Cash money artists; which would eventually lead to writing and producing for artists such as Diddy, Game, Fat Joe & Twista (among many).
Stack$ has now put the finishing touches on his forthcoming mixtape, The Snowball Effect, which will be released this fall and it includes collaborations with Nelly Furtado, Pleasure P, Urban Mystic, Nu Jerzey Devil, Charlemagne The God, MDMA & Jack Thriller & production from Scott Storch.
The lead-single from Stack$ The Snowball Effect is the uplifting “Whitewashed” f/ Bryan Rucker, but rather then try to put my own words on it, I think Talib Kweli sums up the consciously-tinged “Whitewashed” the best “Great video for every girl who thought she had to change who she was to be beautiful.”
Ricky Rude - Glory
New Jersey rapper Ricky Rude is dropping the first music video to the inspirational track "Glory" off his debut album, "No Guts, No Glory." "Glory" is produced by fellow New Jersey native and Grammy nominated beat-maker Cardiak (Joe Budden, 50 Cent, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross).
“Glory” is the lead track from Ricky's forthcoming studio debut, due out on October 1, 2013 via Bright Boys Entertainment. The 12-track disc showcases the New Jersey's lyricist’s wordplay and transcendence of the Hip-Hop genre. "No Guts, No Glory" will feature Scarface, AR-AB, and Shady Records' Liz Rodriguez. Production is shared by a list of notables, including Aftermath producer DJ Khalil, Cardiak, Sarom, Felony, and Brainwave.

Uptown XO (of Diamond District) - Finding My Way
Diamond District emcee Uptown XO releases the video version of his first single "Finding My Way" from the album "Colour de Grey". A.B. The Pro produces the track adding a percussive funk loop to XO's introspective lyrical mood. Meanwhile, XO explores all he's been through in life - from childhood evictions and lost memories, to the battle for his soul: "Lost errything in life and had to start all over / I had to cope with the pain, now I can't stay sober." As always a picturesque tour of Washington DC from Uptown XO.
"The video for "Finding My Way" takes cues from the boom bap style production of the track and imagines Uptown XO as two sides of the same young man, coming of age during the mid-nineties in Washington D.C. During the first verse XO takes on the persona of a street minded hustler, spending time in alleyways, shady housing, and rooftops. While for the second verse he portrays the role of a government insider, working to enact change through the political system on Capitol Hill. These twin lifestyles echo the flip side of the same mindset, much like the dichotomy of the District itself."

Special - Friends With Benefits (Feat. Burgaboy)
Striving to make it in Hip-Hop, where the competition is thick and the grind is endless, up and coming artist Special has constructed his own lane with the success of reaching 1 million hits on YouTube with his social media influenced song T-Shirt Time.
His obsession with Hip-Hop began as a child in Ottawa, Canada while listening to LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out and dealing with the hardships of not having a father present, “Hip hop was literally my father figure growing up.” Built with the talent of writing, it was already in the cards for Special to become potent with the pen. The creative drive in Special brought him to Toronto where he put his love for the culture into his own craft.“I’m a dreamer…I never had that thing that says you can’t do this…” – Special
The many influences of PMD of EPMD, LL Cool J, Smooth B of Nice-N-Smooth, Q-Tip from ATCQ, Akinyele, the illusive MF Doom, Craig G among others inspired Special, “I’m a very competitive type person, and I have a hard time watching someone do something that I KNOW I can do without trying my hand at it.” Hard work paid off with 6 years in the game. In 2011, Special was featured in the Wall-Street Journal after making considerable noise with “Get Ready” – an anthem for the IBEW Verizon Strike. Special, along with Jersey Sound Lab’s Internal Quest, both had the opportunity to perform “Get Ready” in front of 16,000+ people downtown NYC.
The thriving success of this old school lyricist has garnered critical acclaim across the globe with releasing commercial projects in Germany and Italy. Special always approaches his verses; his presence and being in the lab with a hip hop mentality, and a sense of integrity. Whether knocking out songs within minutes or meditating on beats for a project, Special is determined to make it a classic. The E-Team release of T-Shirt Time came off the height of Jersey Shore’s Pauly D’s fun phrase “It’s Teee-Shirt Time” while getting ready for the club with his roommates. The EMI Music release sparked social media insanity and became a highlight in Special’s career when it topped charts as a featured song on Ultimate Hitz compilation in Canada.
“…Hip Hop is my life, and I will do it till the day I die.” – Special
Honing his skills among the Hip-Hop elite and newcomers has given Special the confidence to create a diverse body of work thus far. Along the road Special has worked with Canada’s own Oriana and Truezt, Craig G (Juice Crew), El Da Sensei (The Artifacts), Sadat X (Brand Nubian) and his Jersey Sound Lab counterparts Internal Quest, Broadway Blake, DJ Hush, to say the least.
Acquiring star quality, Special embarks on his venture called Minds Eye – an 11-track album released independently with features from Dannie Swift, Internal Quest, Oriana, Saint Kris, DJ Szudi and Asian DMC Champ DJ Ko Flo. The lead single “Friends With Benefits” featuring Burgaboy is a conceptual blend of “commercial ‘mainstream’ feel and classic hip hop roots”. Special’s latest project, Mind’s Eye, goes back to the essence of why Special entered Hip-Hop as an artist. “It’s [meant] to let people know that they can still back my commercial and genre crossover projects, and I still do fully support and represent the culture that I came up in.”
As Special continues to down his own lane, as he plans his first official tour in 2014. The burgeoning musical appeal of Special can identify with any audience and will lead him to greatness, and solidifies the progression of Hip-Hop.“Everybody Wanna Be A Star.” Special picked an assortment of producers for Mind’s Eye – Sultan Mir (Florida), Loop Holes (Netherlands), marshtini (Netherlands), Elements (Denmark) and ELATION (Germany).
Quelle Chris - Addiction Cycles (Feat. Cavalier)
Put together by Quelle Chris with Cavalier and Fresh Daily; produced by Quelle Chris, Messiah Musik, and Sifu; featuring Tanya Morgan, Denmark Vessey, DJ GroWeyez, Chay, and Bwameeks; "Niggas Is Men" is a dusty, sharp cornered 13 track affair. A prelude to Quelle Chris's upcoming Mello Music Group debut proper, NIM is a head-nodding, intoxicating journey through reincarnation, long tokes, the poisoned food supply, addiction cycles, and even hot & crusty hoes.
The Jacka & Dubble-OO - Time Standing Still (Feat. J.Stalin)

D-Sisive - When We Die We Die Together
D-Sisive is a Canadian rapper. This one of my favourite songs he released.
B.o.B - Don't Let Me Fall
B.o.B reflects on his rise to the top in the Ethan Lader-directed video for "Don't Let Me Fall," the fourth single from his debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which combines old footage with newly shot scenes. Bobby Simmons strums his guitar in the gravity-defying clip, shot on the sidewalks of downtown Denver and at Colorado's open-air Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Kendrick Lamar - Look Out For Detox
This song is released in 2010, 3 years after this Dr. Dre's "Detox" has still not been released.
Rav.P - City of Angels (Feat. Skyzoo)
Some visuals for the joint that set the whole #weeklyStamps campaign off.
E Major - Feature Presentation (Feat. Cynthia Hawkes)
Baltimore-bred, Los Angeles-based emcee E Major presents the self-directed music video to “Feature Presentation”, the Rexamillion-produced second leak from his upcoming album Baltimore Bruin. Coming on the heels of his video for "Zodiac Freestyle" (watch here) the "Feature Presentation" video focuses on his adopted home of Los Angeles where he moved to a couple of years ago, a gamble for an artist with the kind of support he commands in B-More. His album Better Than Yours had already made Baltimore City Paper’s top ten albums of 2011 – two years after dubbing his Majority Rules album “a classic” – by the time his hit “Paper Runnin’” started doing the rounds on 92Q, later remixed by local legend DJ Booman. Wielding common-sense lyricism and a relaxed, persistent flow which presides on equal footing over boom-bap and trap alike, E’s shared stages with Lupe Fiasco, Wale, and Little Brother and has gotten the nod from Okayplayer, MTV, VH1 and DJ Booth. "The song is about coming up and being successful within music and specifically Hip Hop but extends to be represent anyone trying to make it in their respective fields and the hurdles they might face," says E. "The video is representing the dichotomy of the world we live in. There are people struggling as well as people that are sitting on top. It's a statement that no matter where we are on the ladder, we're still trying to climb higher." Baltimore Bruin is set for an August release.
Chaotik Stylz - Show Improvement (Prod. Oh No)
Chaotik Stylz spent the majority of his formative years shuttling back and forth between Buffalo, NY and Los Angeles, CA and did so by navigating between two different worlds; the suburbs of Buffalo and the inner-city of LA. “My upbringing was odd to say the least. I was primarily raised by my mother, who was an actress who later became a school teacher and when she passed away after a long-battle with Lupus it unleashed a monster inside of me. My father, left for Los Angeles when I was a kid, needless to say it created issues” states Chaotik.
Chaotik started emceeing at the age of 16 with his crew in Buffalo and after his Mother passed away it lit a fire in him which propelled him to take his gift more seriously. After linking up with M.E.D., Chaotik was introduced to Oh No and thru the wizardy of technology received a beat-tape from Oh No that would inspire him to start crafting the material that would eventually become The Subliminal Substance LP. The initial recording stages of the project soon thereafter lead to Chaotik holing up at Oh No’s studio in Oxnard, CA “We worked the entire time I was there, all I did was choose beats and rhyme during that trip. However, as the process played out, most of the original beats I picked during those sessions were scrapped and new ones were selected. The time I spent out there changed me as an artist and started me on the path I'm currently now on” Chaotik laments.
Since the completion of his LP, Chaotik has stepped into a new arena and begun on a path of sobriety, but The Subliminal Substance is full of drug and alcoholic rage; pain of loss, mental issues and a "Chaotik" lifestyle. Chaotik offers “The Subliminal Substance centers on the idea that Hip-Hop music has become a highly addictive, yet dangerous drug which is ruining the spirit of its listeners; it has become a shadow of its former self and this is my ode to its glory days and hope that the art-form will return to its greatness.”
The Subliminal Substance will be released on 7-16-2013.

Ugly Heroes (Apollo Brown, Verbal Kent & Red Pill) - Desperate
Somewhere between poverty and fame - is the rest of us: Ugly Heroes. We're regular people doing what we've got to do to get by. That might mean working dead-end jobs; it might mean drinking a little too much; it might mean thoughts of petty crime. For many without a rope to hold onto to, without a way out to make that move, we wonder what we're supposed to do. It's enough to make you desperate.
Chicago MC Verbal Kent and Detroit spitter Red Pill lay verses over Apollo Brown's moody introspective soundscape for the new visuals from director Brandon Damon which premiered earlier this morning on Chicago site "Fake Shore Drive".
Take a second to listen.
Chris Rivers - Ready To Die (Feat. Styles P, Whispers and Mr. Ivory Snow)

YC The Cynic- Molotovs At Poseidon
Before reading the press release for YC The Cynic’s new album GNK, I thought Kickstarter campaigns were something that only worked when supported by megalithic selfish celebrities in the vein of Zach Braff. However, having raised $5000 in funds, the Bronx MC is set to put out his new LP this summer.
If new track “Molotovs At Posiedon” is anything to go by, it’s the perfect time for it, too, because the whole thing sounds like the sort of throwback dingy NYC rap that wouldn’t be out of place on Telly from KIDS' Walkman.
Adlib - One of the Few
Though Bad Newz is Adlib’s debut-LP, he is a music industry veteran who has built his fan-base from the ground up on the road with Hip-Hop greats; touring the world over many times with the likes of Jedi Mind Tricks, AOTP, La Coka Nostra and Madchild (Swollen Members) to name a few.
Bad Newz conjures up a nostalgic sense of golden era Hip-Hop with a strong dose of aggressiveness that is characteristic of the La Coka Nostra and Battle Axe collective. Adlib’s Bad Newz contains features from Vinnie Paz, Slaine, Madchild, General Steele (Smif N Wessun), Reef The Lost Cauze Shabaam Sahdeeq & more.
Here is the video for Adlib’s official debut-single, “One Of The Few,” the track was produced by Ali Armz and the video was directed by Josh Ramirez for Jack Nine Films.
