J. Ivy - War (Feat. Blitz The Ambassador)
Never head of J. Ivy or Blitz the Ambassador but this song is really good so its worth a listen, J. Ivy sounds a little like Sha Stimula.
In his college years, Grammy/Emmy-award winner J. Ivy was known around campus and his native Chicago simply as "The Poet". Soon after, he was storming the stage of Russell Simmons' Def Poetry, soon followed by the studio where Kanye West and Jay-Z invited him to guest on "Never Let Me Down", a track on Kanye's Grammy-winning College Dropout album. He has performed and collaborated with everyone from RZA to Erykah Badu to Bo Diddley to Martha Stewart. He gave the soul singer formerly known as John Stephens the name John Legend. His voice and lyricism have been heard on national programs like the TV show ER, HBO Boxing, and Sunday Night Football. And now, he proudly presents the music video for "War", as seen on MTV Jams. "War" is a track from his latest album Here I Am, released on Ivyous Entertainment. J. can be seen as the host of the newest segment of the Fuse Network's Hip Hop Shop.
Unable to learn from the mistakes that were made before us, today's climate has grown harsher than ever. We've seen the results of destruction and turmoil, yet we continue down the same coldhearted path. It's evident that the same battles that raged in the past haunt our current existence. It's evident that we are still at WAR.
Here to address the issue is Grammy & Emmy Award Winning Poet, J. Ivy, who teamed up with Film Director Kurt Williamson (Kurtwurks) in attempt to shed light on a much needed discussion. From Los Angeles to Chicago to New York to Washington D.C., J. Ivy and Kurt Williamson traveled the country to create this visual entitled "WAR," which features Hip-Hop MC, Blitz the ambassador. "WAR" has true to life visual elements that spark realistic conversations needed for the healing of today's society.
