Iron Solomon - Get On My Level

In March hip-hop artist Iron Solomon released his debut album, Monster. Ahead of its official release, GRAMMY.com has your exclusive first look at the video for "Get On My Level." "This album, the Monster album, is the album that I always dreamed of making," said Solomon. "Growing up in New York City, you have the highest-priced, high-rise apartments right across the street from the lowest-income housing projects. It's an overlapping interplay of cultures that crisscross at every corner and I want my music to be that way." Born in New York, Solomon was instantly attracted to hip-hop after listening to N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton. With an irreverent attitude and influences ranging from Nirvana to Jay-Z, Solomon emerged as a top freestyle artist at MC battles nationwide, garnering millions of YouTube viewers and praise from GRAMMY winners such as Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. In 2011 Solomon released Redrum Radio, a 16-track mixtape. Monster was produced by Solomon and features collaborations with Talib Kweli ("The Empire"), Recording Academy Trustee Paul Wall ("Follow Me"), Novel ("Classic Girl"), Daryl "D.M.C. " McDaniels ("Sucker MC's" ), and Cassidy ("Rule #4081"), among others. The album's lyrical themes offer a window into Solomon's New York upbringing, his journey as an artist and his personal relationships. A video for the album's first song, "Almost There," premiered in December 2011.
