D-Sisive - Don't Turn The Lights Out (Feat. Neverending White Lights)
There was a time in Derek Christoff's life when he didn't have many words. It's not that he didn't have a story; but he was stuck on the start.
In the late 90s, the young MC known as D-Sisive came up quickly in the Toronto hip-hop community with a string of well-liked singles, but his burgeoning profile was stopped cold with the illness and death of both of his parents in a six-year span. Grief and depression stole his creativity and motivation for the better part of a decade, but in a moment fit for fable, his lyrical inspiration returned suddenly one day while singing along to the Beach Boys on the radio. It was the new start D-Sisive's story needed. And he hasn't stopped since.
2008's The Book EP was nominated for a Juno and its single "Nobody With A Notepad" won the SOCAN ECHO Songwriting Prize. 2009's Let the Children Die was long-listed for that year's Polaris Music Prize (and would later get an elaborate send-off with a full-band live funeral after legal issues forced it out of production). The same year, he released Jonestown as a free download. Less than a year later, we got Vaudeville, and a year after that, the Jonestown sequel, Jonestown 2: Jimmy Go Bye Bye, back and forth between his story and others'. Along the way were a series of Hijacked singles, with D-Sisive rapping his own words over the music of such songs as Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" and Sigur Ros' "Festival," an homage to just some of his comprehensive influences and tastes.
On 11-13-2012 D-Sisive released his latest project, Run With the Creeps (TheD-LuxeEdition), it's a deeper dive back into himself and with his wide-open online look at the creative process along the way, his most honest yet. The hunger, pain, humor, and scrutiny have been on display every day; he's forever brazen in ambition and as credulous as a kid. He's writing the whole thing down, sparing no detail and certainly no time.
D-Sisive is a disciple of hip-hop and a Bowie devotee. His eleven-year-old imagination was captured by Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff's "Nightmare On My Street," and later, by a legendary punk spectacle as heard on Creep single "GG Allin." There's something new everyday, and so he's running, trying to keep up with himself, trying to connect with his fellow creeps. There was a time he didn't have these words; didn't know how to say them. So now he's making sure he doesn’t miss even one.
J Bizness - Giraffes (Feat. The Black Opera)
Since taking off this past August, J. Bizness’ instrumental album Flight Plan has gotten much mileage with fans and critics alike. The album, the first in Mello Music Group’s Instrumental Series, is a collection of 24 selections with a crisp, spacey sound inspired by the freedom of flight.
Back when Flight Plan dropped, as a celebratory bonus, MMG leaked a track by The Black Opera over one of J.’s heatrocks. The result was “Giraffes,” a testament to the sinister seduction of addiction. Now the involved parties are proud to share the visuals for “Giraffes,” directed by Andy Madeleine. The video features our perpetually loc’d out duo narrating the story of a fine young woman descending into the habit of getting high. Over J.’s smooth, electronic and airy production, TBO’s morality tale is a bang

Black Dave - On Da Map
A special delivery from Black Dave, who unveils his latest visual effort for “On Da Map.” The clip showcases the young rapper on a mission throughout New York with a mysterious package. MidaZ The Beast - President (IMAKEMADBEATS Remix)
MidaZ the Beast's timely video for "President", off of his excellent LOOPS album.
The Black Opera - Balcony
Like a pair of film noir anti-heroes, The Black Opera don evening attire to celebrate the release of Libretto: Of King Legend with the release of the visual interpretation of Balcony.
“Sometimes people choose to mask themselves with character.”
The text that prefaces Andy Madeleine’s visuals for The Black Opera’s “Balcony,” could be read as a double entendre. The Black Opera is choosing to mask themselves with the TBO mythology as a way to reintroduce the raw back into the game while at the same time, the larger-than-life corny personas The Opera roasts in the songs lyrics are masking themselves in an absurd character - perpetuating as real.

Iron Solomon - Get On My Level
In March hip-hop artist Iron Solomon released his debut album, Monster. Ahead of its official release, GRAMMY.com has your exclusive first look at the video for "Get On My Level."
"This album, the Monster album, is the album that I always dreamed of making," said Solomon. "Growing up in New York City, you have the highest-priced, high-rise apartments right across the street from the lowest-income housing projects. It's an overlapping interplay of cultures that crisscross at every corner and I want my music to be that way."
Born in New York, Solomon was instantly attracted to hip-hop after listening to N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton. With an irreverent attitude and influences ranging from Nirvana to Jay-Z, Solomon emerged as a top freestyle artist at MC battles nationwide, garnering millions of YouTube viewers and praise from GRAMMY winners such as Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. In 2011 Solomon released Redrum Radio, a 16-track mixtape.
Monster was produced by Solomon and features collaborations with Talib Kweli ("The Empire"), Recording Academy Trustee Paul Wall ("Follow Me"), Novel ("Classic Girl"), Daryl "D.M.C. " McDaniels ("Sucker MC's" ), and Cassidy ("Rule #4081"), among others. The album's lyrical themes offer a window into Solomon's New York upbringing, his journey as an artist and his personal relationships. A video for the album's first song, "Almost There," premiered in December 2011.

Glass City - Hip-Hop Glory
On November 20th, Wu-Tang Clan affiliate/Guinness World Record Freestylist M-Eighty will drop the highly anticipated album “Home Grown Internationally Known”. The LP pays tribute to the rappers hometown of Toledo, OH by featuring all Toledo-based Emcees and Producers alongside the pairing of M-Eighty & newcomer and fellow Toledo native Nino Graye. The duo known as “Glass City”, will be embarking on a 15-date Midwest tour in November alongside the likes of Kid Ink, Cappadonna, & Bronze Nazareth in support of their debut. Fans can expect several videos spawning from the LP’s release including featured tracks “Hip-Hop Glory”, “911”, “Burn it Up”, “Lose My Sheeeit!” & the collegiate-anthem “FAH-Q”.
When asked how the duo came up with the name for their group and the title for their debut, M-Eighty remarked by stating, “I am a home grown product of Toledo, OH who never stopped loving my roots and 30-years later I am that internationally recognized Artist/A&R/Executive that people notice and I still keep it 1000% with my peers. “Glass City” is a nickname for Toledo, OH aka The Renaissance City and though the group is just Nino and I, we definitely showed a lot of love to the artists grinding in Toledo and gave the community a sense of hope that big things can happen if we all learn to motivate and persevere together.” Glass City “Home Grown Internationally Known” drops 11-20-12 on Holy Toledo Productions/Flow-4-Ever Entertainment.
J. NiCs - G-Code
J. NiCs & Last Rights team up with Derick G to create the G-Code visual experience.
Cool Nutz - Champagne Toast
Portland, Oregon has never been looked at as a Mecca for Urban music and culture. However, there have always been a few people that have carried that flag proudly. Not only locally; but globally.
Cool Nutz has been a shining light for the cities under acknowledged Hip-Hop scene. With 7 critically acclaimed solo albums under his belt, Cool Nutz releases his 8th solo album entitled “Portland Ni%#a”.
The title of the album represents more a mindset and history of music that exists in the city but doesn’t tend to get the credit and spotlight it deserves. Music that represents the cities harsher and more non-rural side.
With a release date of August 28th, Cool Nutz has enlisted hip-hop heavyweights to assist in creating the electrifying audio landscape for “Portland Ni%#a”. Look for features from Tech N9ne, The Grouch, Krizz Kaliko, Messy Marv, Mistah Fab, Bosko, and more. Production duties are handled by Bosko(Big Boi, E-40, J.Cole), Trox(50Cent, Krizz Kaliko, Kottonmouth Kings), Lawz Spoken, JEB, Stewart Villain, InfinitRakz, and Krispy Hendrixx.
“Portland Ni%#a” will be released for 100% FREE via Cool Nutz’s website www.CoolNutz.net and is being used as a promotional tool to introduce him as the most recent signing to independent super label Suburban Noize Records.
Gensu Dean - Alice In Wonderland (Feat. David Banner)
The Grand Imperial Gensu Dean caused waves with his Mello Music Group debut LP Lo-Fi Fingahz. Never one to rest on his laurels, the southern beat maestro is ready to announce his sophomore project with the legendary Planet Asia. The new project is titled Abrasions and will be out this winter! But to hold fans over in the meantime, Dean is dropping some new visuals for his collaboration with David Banner, “Alice In Wonderland”.
Conceived and directed by Calvan Fowler of Daydream Filmworks, the same mind and lens that directed Dean’s previous video “Forever feat. Large Professor”, this clip is a trip down the rabbit hole complete with mad hatters, giant rabbits and sadistic doctors. David Banner sounds energized as he plays off Deans’ smooth guitar sample in a two-verse tale about a woman done wrong. The two Mississippi natives show great chemistry in the clip, no surprise since the two go back years—their first work together was more than 10 years ago when Banner was in the heralded group, Crooked Lettaz.
“Alice In Wonderland” can be found on the stellar Lo-Fi Fingahz album, still available on cd, vinyl, and digital. Stay tuned for more news on the Gensu Dean & Planet Asia album, Abrasions, coming on Mello Music Group.

Enjoy. Remember. Reflect. Relate. Re-live. Realize. Re-invent. Kardinal and Nottz (on the beat) link up with Shi Wisdom to bring you "Mr.Parker". A song about growing up and living with the challenges of an education system that is built for "us" to fail (or atleast having it be very difficult to succeed). With little encouragement, many of us have overcome and beat the system, no thanx to "Mr.Parker". I posted this way to late but I love this song so it had to be shared!

Skyzoo - JanSport Strings
The official video for "JanSport Strings", the Lead single off Skyzoo's upcoming album 'A Dream Deferred' out Oct. 2nd on The Faculty/Duck Down Music Inc.
Skyzoo describes the video and the song in his own words. "The video, directed by Anthony Sylvester, was shot throughout Bed Stuy, Brooklyn NY. The theme was to show the parallels between me as a 9-year old aspiring emcee and me now as an accomplished emcee and artist, and how the things around me that groomed me haven't changed. The song is a 3-minute auto-bio of me as a kid in Brooklyn. The ending is a clip from Video Music Box, the legendary NYC video show run by DJ Ralph McDaniels. This episode in particular was the debut of Chi-Ali's 'Age Ain't Nothin But A Number'. Seeing that video that day on this episode of VMB made me start rhyming. This clip was literally the moment that changed my life. And the Chi-Ali tee shirt is pretty amazing. They'll be on sale soon. Enjoy...""
